Neville Chamberlain was a successful businessman who became mayor of Birmingham in 1915. In 1923 he became Chancellor of the Exchequer. He also served as Minister of Health. In 1937 Chamberlain became the Prime Minister. Chamberlain is best known for his policy of appeasement. He agreed at Munich to the infamous "Munich Accords" that dismembered Czechoslovakia, and postponed World War II for a year.
